The Power of Being Planted
Psalms 1:1-3 (NKJV)
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
Planted (Defined):
Place a plant in the ground where it can grow and produce fruit.
Question:
Are you planted in a local church?
The Pattern
Genesis 1:11 (NKJV)
11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.
Grass withers and dies.
A tree planted produces fruit.
The Promise
Psalms 92:12-14 (NKJV)
12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,
He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those who are planted in the house of the Lord
Shall flourish in the courts of our God.
14 They shall still bear fruit in old age;
They shall be fresh and flourishing,
Benefits of being planted:
- Growth
- Flourish
- Bring forth fruit in old age
- Fat and flourishing
The Power
Deuteronomy 32:30 (NKJV)
30 How could one chase a thousand,
And two put ten thousand to flight,
Unless their Rock had sold them,
And the Lord had surrendered them?
Truth:
Things will happen in a corporate setting that will never happen on a personal level.
Forsake Not
Hebrews 10:21-25 (NKJV)
21 and having a High Priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
God is calling His people back to His house!
