Why I practice Prayer and Fasting

Mark 9:29 (NKJV)

29So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

6But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

God is no respecter of persons, but He is a rewarder of persons.

Under the Cloud

I Corinthians 10:1 (NKJV)

1Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea,

This year we need to stay under the cloud.

Everyone Under the Cloud

Exodus 13:21,22 (NKJV)

21And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. 22He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.

The cloud provided protection and guidance.

When the cloud moved, they moved.

When the cloud stopped, they stopped.

Expectation Under the Cloud

I Kings 18:43-45 (NKJV)

43and said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” 44Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!” So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.’ ” 45Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain. So Ahab rode away and went to Jezreel.

This year, may we live in a spirit of expectation.

Excitement Under the Cloud

Hebrews 12:1,2 (NKJV)

1Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

May we run the race set before us with joy.

Under the Cloud

Psalms 91:1,2 (NKJV)

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

A Safe Place
