A Distinction
Malachi 3:17,18 (NKJV)
17“They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. And I will spare them As a man spares his own son who serves him.” 18Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.
Christians are called to a different lifestyle.
The Transformation
I Corinthians 6:9-11 (NKJV)
9Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Old things passed away, behold all things are new.
The Truth
I John 3:9 (NKJV)
9Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
It’s not that Christians never sin, but we do not practice sin.
I John 3:9 (NKJV)
9Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
The Tragedy
Revelation 21:7,8 (NKJV)
7He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Today the Dilution of Sin-
Adultery is called “an affair:
Homosexuality is called the “gay lifestyle”
Liars can simply “fib”
Fornicators can “live together”
Sin is still sinful and must be dealt with at the altar.
The Call to Come Out!
2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what [a]fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what [b]communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[c] are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.” 17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.”
