Dislocated

Hebrews 12:12-13 (NASB)

12 Therefore, [a]strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,

13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is impaired may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.

Dislocated (Defined)

“To put out of proper place, position, or relationship”

“To displace from a normal position”

A Psalm of Dislocation

Dislocated

A Psalm of Dislocation

Psalms 137:1-4 (NKJV)

1 By the rivers of Babylon,

There we sat down, yea, we wept

When we remembered Zion.

2 We hung our harps

Upon the willows in the midst of it.

3 For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song,

And those who plundered us requested mirth,

Saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

4 How shall we sing the Lord’s song

In a foreign land?

Dislocation brings discontent!

“How can we sing in a strange land?”

The Peril of Dislocation

I Corinthians 12:14 (NKJV)

14 For in fact the body is not one member but many.

I Corinthians 12:26-27 (NKJV)

26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

“Whenever a member is dislocated (out of joint) the entire body suffers!”

The Person of Dislocation

Psalms 133:1-3 (NKJV)

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is

For brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious oil upon the head,

Running down on the beard,

The beard of Aaron,

Running down on the edge of his garments.

3 It is like the dew of Hermon,

Descending upon the mountains of Zion;

For there the Lord commanded the blessing—

Life forevermore.

The head is anointed and the oil flows downward to every member of the body.

When the member is dislocated, they do not receive the blessing or anointing.

The Plan For People Dislocated

Lift up their hands

Make straight paths

Let it be healed

The Picture of Proper Location

Psalms 126:1-6 (NKJV)

1 When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion,

We were like those who dream.

2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,

And our tongue with singing.

Then they said among the nations,

“The Lord has done great things for them.”

3 The Lord has done great things for us,

And we are glad.

4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord,

As the streams in the South.

5 Those who sow in tears

Shall reap in joy.

6 He who continually goes forth weeping,

Bearing seed for sowing,

Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing,

Bringing his sheaves with him.
